I had a really snide answer planned out for this but I'll just be honest with what I think. It's because AOT's a good show… on the surface. It has enough for hype and a cult gathering, but not for real substance. Sound familiar? If it does, it's because that's typical SJW doctrine. No real substance. Now, I'm not saying that only SJW's watch this show but hear me out.
SJW's pseudo-moralistic stances and views are due, mostly to the need to feel good about themselves and to be regarded as a sophisticated advocate of Justice. “Wow, she's so brave, she's so enlightened. That's what I feel is behind their mentality. (I could be an idiot who knows nothing of their motivations, forgive me.)
For many of the AOT fandom, I think, they are attracted to the feel of sophistication that comes with being part of the fandom, after all, it's so well-written that anyone who Doesn't like it is just childish. If you prefer Naruto over AOT, it's clear that you just aren't mature. The show is apparently very deep and nuanced and therefore sophisticated people like it.
I disagree as the show is badly written in many respects; Mikasa doesn't really have a character, Zeke, the main antagonist's first fight ended in seconds. Imagine you watched Infinity War after anticipating Thanos for years and Hulk beats him in under half a minute and he needs to be saved by his subordinates. That's terrible writing, it's sad writing to be honest. The villains in the show are almost always ridiculously incompetent, Eren actually defeats any because of his will power I just dismembered you and you are going to beat me because of your strong will, yeah right.
I'm actually not here to dump on AOT, but these are some of the plot holes it has. When faced with these plot holes, instead of “Okay every show has a its faults,” they go out with “you're a hater,” or they make ridiculous arguments, just like SJW's. If you criticise any part of their doctrine, instead of searching for ways to correct it, they search up pejoratives to undermine your points without any logic. Only haters and bigots could possibly disagree with them and it's sad to be so myopic.
If I'm wrong about anything here and you can convince me that is the case, I'll edit it.
